Commodity Buyer

Within Fayat Cleantech, we deliver the ultimate range of Street/Road sweeping equipment to cover all aspects of municipal, urban, suburban and light to heavy duty contracting work, under the strong brands of RAVO (Self Propelled) SCARAB (Truck Mounted) and Dulevo.

The commodity buyer function is essential in the Cleantech purchasing organization, responsible for defining the commodity strategy with the team in line with the purchasing policy and coordinating the execution.

As a Commodity Buyer, you represent one of the commodities within Cleantech, which is organized according to a matrix structure. RAVO, part of the Cleantech organization, plays an important role in this structure.

You will be part of RAVO's local purchasing team and report both to the Supply Chain Manager of RAVO and functionally to your Commodity Manager. Your expertise and strategic insights are crucial to the success of our organization.

The position will be based in Alkmaar, Netherlands.

As commodity buyer, your main responsibilities include:

• Lead and coordinate the Commodity Team (local buyer leading the same commodity located in different sites of Cleantech)
• Define, roll out and monitor the Commodity strategy (based on supplier assessment, phase in, phase out suppliers, supplier risk management...etc.)
• Achieving the Commodity targets (of the product cost and savings and consequently the budget figure of the commodity)
• Ensure a fact-based driven decision process (benchmark, 0 cost base analysis, quality, sustainability, financial stress rating)
• Manage the supplier portfolio and handle critical suppliers as well as the potential crisis of shortage, including insolvency procedures - with the support of the local head and the purchasing director.
• Take part in key supplier meetings and lead global negotiations with the suppliers
• Drive the networking inside and outside the Commodity Team, including suppliers and FRED collaborators
• Drive and co-manage the technical savings of the commodity together with engineering
• Contribute to source new components on time and reach the target on price/investments, in line with the defined strategic vision
• Take part in make or buy decisions

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in procurement management or supply chain management
• At least 3 to 5 years of experience in similar role.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Exhibit the willingness to learn, remain flexible and optimistic, and demonstrate a solution based proactive mindset
• Listen attentively, ask questions, and take necessary action.
• Anticipate needs, foresee problems, identify actions needed, and take initiative to act before situations require urgent attention.
• The ability to motivate, inspire, and guide the teams toward achieving Cleantech's goals.
